TLDR: Lead engineer & engineering manager overseeing development of the BARK iOS App.

  • Manage a team of 5 across iOS, Android, and backend engineers.
  • Launch a new iOS app to replace React Native app within first year. Since launching, the new app has:
    • Improved app store rating from 3.2 stars --> 4.9 stars
    • Launched new native customer support flow that reduced operating costs by about $1 million annually.
    • Improved login conversion by 8%
    • Supported over 200k monthly active users, improved by ~14% from previous app.
    • Had a crash free rate of 99.995%

Software Engineer - theSkimm Dec. 2019 - Dec 2020

TLDR: Lead engineer on theSkimm app as well as contributing to the SkimmMoney iOS App (never launched).

  • Maintain and build upon theSkimm app which boasts over 2 million downloads and is regularly featured in the App Store by Apple.
  • Contribute to SkimmMoney codebase, which was deprioritized before public launch due to the COVID 19 crisis.

TLDR: Built, launched, and maintained Outfits by Cladwell and supporting styling algorithms and systems.

  • Built and launched Cladwell Daily Outfits app as single engineer, resulting in over 100,000 closets managed globally and over 1 billion outfits generated.
  • Led styling efforts and developed fashion styling algorithms and systems.
  • Implemented data analytics systems and performed complex analyses for product and business decisions.
  • Onboarded and managed engineers, including interns to senior level, in person and remote.
  • Led development process, planned technical road map, and was responsible for communication with team.
  • Continued to build and maintain iOS app while maintaining Django backend.
  • Remained as only employee during company's acquisition.
